This week, our Tale is a short story from another of the greats of the golden age of science fiction, 'What Shall It Profit?' by Poul Anderson. He was a multi award winning writer, with multiple Hugos and Nebulas to his name. The title of this story is the first part of a quote from the King James Bible, taken from the Mark's gospel. The whole quote, intriguing in the context of this story, reads "What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his soul?"
